How to Use a Fire Blanket in Emergency Situations?

Fire blankets are an easy and very simple option to control small fires and prevent them from becoming too large.

The technology is not new, it has been around for years, but the new type of material in the blanket makes it a really good choice for many different reasons.

Generally, These Blankets are manufacturing from Fiberglass Cloth. Also, these blankets are making from different types of materials but the most common are fiberglass.
Laboratories and research facilities often have very large models that can be made from wool with a fire retardant type of chemical.

Such large-size blankets are using emergencies to treat cloth fires or to cover large locations.
These larger-size models are generally not used for home use or use in small areas. Because the addition of blankets can make it difficult to manage to clothe.
Some of the fabric is using in the new models of blankets. And it is actually cotton treated with a safe and non-polluting type of fire blocker. All fires burn using a combination of three elements.
A blanket design to cover or close the fire, preventing excess oxygen to receive fuel and thus extinguishing the fire. They are much more effective on small kitchen type grease fires or stove fires than using water or chemicals because they will not circulate fuel.

The right way to use a blanket to extinguish a fire is important. Using blankets incorrectly can result in poor coverage of the fire, resulting in oxygen still combustible material and the fire spreading.
Simply wrap the blanket over a small fire, taking care not to let flames or sparks erupt in the entire house or surrounding area.

Fire blankets keep in protective pouches or boxes and folded to allow quick and easy opening of the blanket. Usually, the release of the blanket involves pulling the tab and holding the blanket with one edge of the material.
Holding the blanket with your thumb and forefinger, place your hands. So that they are on the same side of the blanket as you are. Your hands should be parallel with the blanket, fingers pointing to the floor.

From this position, rotate your wrist until your hands are flat with your arms. And the blanket covers your hands and fingers. Never use a blanket with your fingers or hands, nor on the same side of the blanket as flames.
It is certain to result from burning or significant discomfort from the heat of the fire. Move the lower edge of the blanket to the edge of the fire closest to you.
Then place the blanket over and above the fire, always placing the blanket between you and the flames. Do not throw blankets; Move slowly and carefully to prevent the flames from spreading.

Allow the fire blanket to settle on the fire.
Then leave it until the flames are completely extinguished and no smoke or fire is released.
If you remove the material too fast, the fire may re-ignite. Fire blankets are only to use once and thrown away.
Having one or more of these simple, safe, and easy to store blankets near your kitchen, camper, and your grill. It can actually help prevent small fires from becoming a major problem.
Sometimes these blankets are also using for "Welding Blanket", So we can say Light Duty Welding Blanket.
